Advanced Acting (Autumn Term)

This 6-week course, led by Paul Harvard, is for professional-level actors. If you are looking to maintain and improve your skills between acting jobs, then this is the place for you. Entry to the group is by application – so you can be confident that in these classes you will be working with fellow actors who will challenge and inspire you – pushing you to develop and extend your technique. Paul’s approach to acting synthesises exercises from some of the greatest practitioners, including Stanislavski, Meisner, Hagen, Adler, Laban and Katie Mitchell.

Character Biography / Creating Psychological Complexity
Week 4:
Working on Day Player roles
Week 5:
Identifying and Embodying Style and Genre
Week 6:
Working in Direct Address / Changing the Audience
Actors trained by Paul in the last three years have gone on to work in Hollywood films, on Broadway, for the National Theatre, in the West End and in series for Netflix, HBO, BBC, ITV and Channel 4.
We are passionate about working with actors from underrepresented groups and we will always seek to break down barriers to access in professional actor-training.
