Acting Through Song 2 (Spring Term)

In this 6-week course, you will explore how to act successfully songs from the musical-theatre repertoire.

You will learn to apply some of the greatest actor-training exercises and techniques whilst singing – to improve your acting through song both for stage, and in audition. The course will explore material where you are singing to another character, directly to an audience, and when your character is onstage alone.

The course is led by Paul Harvard. As author of the book Acting Through Song, Paul is internationally-renowned for his leading work in this subject. He was the Head of Musical Theatre at the Urdang Academy for many years – and has taught the subject at leading conservatoires such as: Arts Educational, Mountview and Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Musical-Theatre Actors trained by Paul have played leading roles in countless West End musicals including: Hamilton, Miss Saigon, Hairspray, Strange Loop, Get Up, Stand Up, A Chorus Line, Once and This Island, Lés Miserables and many more.

We are passionate about working with actors from underrepresented groups and we will always seek to break down barriers to access in professional actor-training. Scholarships are available for those who are facing challenging circumstances.
