Self-Tape Intensive (Summer Term)

Learn the art of the perfect self-tape – and pitch your tape to a casting agent in the final session. 

Elevate your self-taping game with our brand new, intensive 7-week course, designed to give you the edge in today’s audition landscape.

This course is designed to equip you with the skills and confidence to create compelling self-tapes that capture the attention of casting directors. You’ll work with industry professionals to hone your on-screen presence, technical proficiency, and audition technique.

A focused and comprehensive program designed to transform your self-taping, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the self-taping process from the casting director’s perspective.

Casting Director Pitch: The culmination of your training! To participate in the final class, students must attend a minimum of 3 sessions. You’ll have the opportunity to pitch your self-tape to a casting director in the final session, gaining invaluable feedback and exposure.

This course is led by acting teacher Alyson Spiro. Aly has been passionately involved in the creative industries all her working life, having worked as an actor, an educator and a casting director.

She enjoyed a successful and exciting career as an actor working across theatre, television, film and radio for many years – and is best known for playing Sarah Sugden in Emmerdale which she enjoyed for seven years.

She has worked at numerous drama schools including LAMDA, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Arts Educational and ALRA – where she was BA Acting Course Leader/ Senior Faculty Member for 6 years.

Actors trained by Collective in the last three years have gone on to work in Hollywood films, on Broadway, for the National Theatre, in the West End and in series for Netflix, HBO, BBC, ITV and Channel 4.

We are passionate about working with actors from underrepresented groups and we will always seek to break down barriers to access in professional actor-training. Scholarships are available for those who are facing challenging circumstances.
