audition Process
- Acceptance into the BA Acting is by audition.
- We audition everyone who applies.
- The audition process has two rounds. For the first round you will be asked to submit a self-tape.
- If you are recalled, the second and final round, will take place over Zoom.
- The Zoom recall will give you an opportunity to work 121 with one of our tutors – to see if Collective might be right for you – and to ask any questions you have about the course.
what should I prepare?
- For both the self-tape and the recall audition you will be asked prepare a monologue of your choice from a contemporary play, film, or television series.
- The monologue should be performed in your own voice and should be a maximum of 2 minutes.
- You are encouraged to choose a piece that you connect with – that you feel celebrates you as an individual.
How Do I apply?
- Applications can be made directly to Collective Acting Studio, or through UCAS.
- To apply for a place on the BA Acting please complete our online application form then email your self-tape to admissions@collectiveactingstudio.co.uk
- Please submit your self-tape as either a YouTube, Vimeo or Dropbox link.
- One of our team will respond within 5 working days to let you know whether or not you will be asked to attend a recall.

Actors who are part of the Collective have gone on to work in Hollywood films, on Broadway, for the National Theatre, in the West End and in series for Netflix, Apple TV, HBO, BBC, ITV and Channel 4.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- The standard minimum entry requirements for this course are one, or a combination, of the following qualifications:
- 2 A Levels at grade C or above
- Merit, Pass, Pass (MPP) at BTEC Extended Diploma
- Access to Higher Education Diploma
- In exceptional circumstances, if a candidate passes the audition process, but does not meet the minimum academic requirements, they may still be offered a place if their audition is deemed outstanding.
language requirements
- All classes are taught in English. If English isn’t their first language, students must provide evidence at enrolment of the following:
- IELTS level 6.0 or above, with at least 5.5 in reading, writing, listening and speaking.

- There is no cost. All our auditions are free.
